Cheddar’s Restaurant Menu Favorites

Some of our personal favorites on the Cheddar’s restaurant menu include:

  • Santa Fe Spinach Dip: This is a combination of spinach, sour cream, spices and a whole load of different cheeses. This dip is served with homemade salsa and tortilla chips, perfect for scooping all of that cheesy, spinachy goodness into your mouth.
  • Loaded Potato Skins: A favorite starter across the country and one you will find everywhere, this is a classic that never fails. These potato skins come stuffed with cheese and bacon. The staples of any good dish (and heart attack, but we ignore that bit).
  • Philly Cheasesteak: This is another classic that Cheddar’s do really well. It combines shaved ribeye steak with freshly cooked mushrooms, peppers and onions. All of this is then covered in melted cheese and served on a roll. Heaven.
  • Homemade Chicken Pot Pie: If anything provides a perfect example of good, honest American home cooking it’s the chicken pot pie. This is cooked to perfection at Cheddar’s, containing loads of white-meat and garden vegetables, packed into a flaky crust and served with a salad on the side.

Cheddar’s Expensive?

Cheddar's Menu Prices

Cheddar’s menu prices are very reasonable, as you can see yourself. Most of the main dishes cost less than $7 and you can generally feed a family of four for just $50. That includes sides and drinks, which is great when you calculate what that $50 will get you in many other casual dining chains. In Melting Pot, for instance, it’s barely enough to cove a meal for two, and it also won’t stretch very far in Olive Garden.

Make no mistake about it, this is not cheap food. They seem to put a lot of effort in sourcing, prepping and cooking and it shows. You get what you pay for, and when you look at many other chains and many other standalone restaurants, that’s a claim you can’t always make.

Menus Similar to Cheddar’s Menu

It’s difficult to find menus that are similar to the Cheddar’s menu. On this site we focus quite heavily on fast food. Cheddar’s have burgers, but they are not quite what you would see on the Hardee’s menu or the Five Guys Menu. The emphasis is more on traditional, home-cooked, no-nonsense food. And whole we have many such restaurants like that in the US, it’s rare to find a chain.

Others haven’t been able to make it work so successful to be able to create a chain. But Cheddar’s have clearly found the right formula. So, if you want all the trust and familiarity that comes with a chain, but you also want home-cooked food made from scratch, then you need not look any further than the Cheddar’s menu.

It’s like paying a visit to your grandmother’s house. Only you won’t hear about ill or dead relatives/friends, you’ll never hear a single story that begins “In my day” and everything won’t smell of…okay, so we’re going too far. But you get the idea.
