Pita Pit

Take some fresh ingredients, some North American favorites and some staples of Greek cuisine and you get Pita Pit, a fast food chain that prepares fresh pita bread sandwiches out of over 500 locations worldwide.

Sandwich shops have proved to be immensely popular in North America and around the world. Subway is the biggest fast food chain in the world, and then you have the likes of Quiznos, Jimmy John’s and Firehouse Subs tagging close behind. Pita Pit have found a way to jump onto this bandwagon, while offering something different at the same time. The Pita Pit menu is unlike any of the sub chain menus you are familiar with, offering a fresh taste of the Med served quickly and with flavors that Americans and Canadians can appreciate.

Pita Pita: Greek Fast Food

Greek food is one of those amazing cuisines that just isn’t explored enough outside of its native home. They have some delicious meals and sauces, completely different to other med cuisines like Italian and Spanish. Pita Pit is a great place to grab a taste of this cuisine, with some speciality Greek fast food prepared just as it would be in the centre of Athens or on the shores of Crete.

So, if you want to taste a piece of Greece, try some of these menu items or extras:

  • Tzatziki: This massively underrated sauce/dip is popular across Greece, and anyone who tastes it falls in love with it. If you have ever sampled the Indian dip Raita, then it’s not too dissimilar. However, there is a strong and more pungent taste, with a kick provided by copious amounts of garlic and dill. The base of this sauce is yoghurt and in Greece (as well as in Pita Pit) it is used as a sauce in pitas, as well as a dip for meat.
  • Souvlaki: This is the main street food/fast food in Greece. They add chunks of meat to a skewer and cook them until they are succulent and slightly charred. They then wrap a pita bread around them, hold tight and pull, removing the skewer and leaving the meat in the bread. Onions, tomatoes, lettuce, fried potatoes, and sauce are then added. If you don’t eat meat, you can get the same dish with falafel instead.

Pita Pit Menu

Pita Pit Menu

It’s not just Greek food on the menu. They take the spirit and style of Greek fast food, and then add in a few local flavors. You won’t find a Philly Cheesesteak in Greek fast food restaurant, for instance, but you will find it on the Pita Pit menu. You will also find menu items that have been inspired by other American and Mexican favorites, including the Quesapitas.

Bacon, that Canadian and American favorite, is also prevalent on the Pita Pit menu. This is something that you won’t find a lot of in Greece, but it’s something that North Americans love and something that can be found in abundance on the Pita Pit menu.

There are also Breakfast pitas, including Steak n’ Eggs, as well as a kids menu that includes smaller menu options better suited for picky eaters.

Pita Pit Secret Menu

One of our favorite secret menus is the Tim Hortons Secret Menu. Like Pita Pit, this is a Canadian born franchise that has since spread worldwide. But unlike Pita Pit, it has a larger menu, which accommodates a large secret menu. The Pita Pit menu just isn’t very big, which means the Pita Pit secret menu is even smaller.

Still, we don’t give up that easily. If there are menu hacks, extra menu options, coupons, tips, tricks, recipes or anything else of value, then we will find it. We work closely with managers, servers and customers to make sure this is the case, and we never let the lack of options get in our way.

So, to see what we have come up with for yourself, just click onto our Pita Pit Secret Menu page. You can also let us know if we have missed any menu hacks that you think deserve a place on this page.

Pita Pit Menu Prices

Pita Pit menu prices might be a little higher than you would expect for what is essentially a sandwich shop, but this is fresh, delicious food, served in a way that is like nothing you will find at Subway and other sandwich chains.

The Pita Pit breakfast menu options are a great way to start the day and come in at less than $7 on average, including Steak ’n Eggs, Morning Glory and more. If you want a hearty, meaty pita, you can expect to pay about the same on average, with a few of their menu items going as high as $9. The veggie options are a little less on average, and you will pay half that for a kid’s pita (although you will get something half the size as well).

The sides cost a few dollars each and you can get a soft drink, a bottle of water or a sweetened iced tea for around $2. To see more, read our Pita Pit Menu Prices page.

Pita Pit Nutrition and Calories

Pita Pit Calories

Pita Pit brands itself as a “healthy alternative to fast food”, which pretty much tells you all that you need to know. It’s a struggle to find healthy options on some fast food menus, including the Hardee’s Menu and the Pizza Hut Menu, but that’s definitely not the case with the Pita Pit menu.

There are wholemeal breads, plenty of healthy grains, a copious amount of fresh veg and leafy grains, and no shortage of beans and pulses either. You can also enjoy ingredients that are a little more indulgent and a little less healthy, including cheeses and red meats. But if you’re watching your waist line or just want fresh and healthy food, you won’t be short of options.

Pita Pit Locations

Pita Pit Locations

Pita Pit Canada is the main arm of this chain. This is their country of birth and its where they are at their strongest and most popular when compared to other chains. However, because of the sheer size of the US marketplace, there are many more fans of the brand here.

As with all fast food chains there are some struggling locations and some standout locations. Pita Pita seem to have found a model that works and is easy for the franchisees to succeed as well as those at the top. As a result, it performs well across the board and provides great opportunities for anyone looking to setup their own Pita Pit franchise.

You can use some of their higher performing branches as an example of what this chain can achieve, including:

  • Tampa
  • Toledo
  • Milwaukee
  • Des Moines
  • Anchorage
  • Baton Rouge
  • Jacksonville
  • Boise
  • Fort Myers

Pita Pit Coupons

Pita Pit Coupons

Pita Pit coupons aren’t as readily available as coupons from other top chains. We have discussed many times on this site how big chains like KFC, McDonalds and Dominos like to flood the market with coupons, especially during food holidays like National Cheeseburger Day and National French Fries Day.

With this particular chain, you won’t find a great deal of promotional coupons. However, Pita Pit coupons do exist, you just need to make sure you’re looking in the right places. The best place to find them is on the official social media pages of the brand. Also, while there are no food holidays that tie-in with the theme of this chain, they do occasionally pay heed to some of the bigger ones by offering freebies and discounts.

Pita Pit Hours

Want to know when Pita Pit closes and opens? Well, it’s not always an easy question to answer. Pita Pit hours differ from location to location, with bigger differences as you move across the different timezones. In most cases they are typically open from 10am or 11am, right on through to 10pm or 11pm. These times are reduced during certain holidays and Pita Pit hours may also be reduced if the location is in a shopping mall.

To learn when your local Pita Pit opens, be sure to check their official website. Info on Pita Pit store hours may be hard to find for the entire chain, but it’s usually easily to find the times for individual stores. You can also just call them in advance.
