Is Panera Bread Healthy?
Panera Bread is like many other modern chains that focus on freshly baked treats and sandwiches: there are healthy options and there are not-so healthy options. It’s all about moderation, portion size and focusing on what’s good for your specific needs. If you’re looking to load-up protein then you can choose form their lean meats, if you want to load-up on carbs then there are plenty of pasta dishes.
If it’s low calories and low fat that you want, then keep the sauces and the breads to a minimum and order smaller portions. In terms of using healthy and fresh ingredients, there is certainly plenty of that. They have made a commitment to removing preservatives and additives from their menu, so there is very little (if any) colorings, sweeteners, trans fats and all of those other controversial “foodstuffs” that none of us want in our favorite meals, snacks and drinks.
It’s still a chain, so don’t expect the sort of attention to detail that you would get from a local independent bakery, but they do seem to try and incorporate fresh produce where possible.

Is Panera Bread Fast Food?
It’s classed as “quick-service” which, in essence, is what fast food is all about.
