Popeyes Locations (US, Worldwide; Ogden, Forest, NYC, Las Vegas)

Popeyes Locations

There are more than 2,500 Popeyes locations around the world, making them one of the biggest restaurant chains in the world and the second biggest purveyor of fried chicken in the United States. This chain has barely been going for half a century yet it has already rooted itself in the public conscious, established as one of the tastiest providers of fried chicken in the world.

This is one of the best ways to get a true taste of the south, with fried chicken that is cooked to traditional recipes for a taste that is authentic and unbeatable. Add to this some Popeyes staples such as biscuits and cajun classics and you have a chain that stands on its own, even though it seems to live in the shadows of its biggest rival.

Popeyes Locations

As mentioned above, Popeyes has always trailed in the shadow of Kentucky Fried Chicken. The Colonel’s finger lickin’ chain has been its biggest rival over the years and they have never left its shadow. They have always been the runner-up, the bridesmaid. Still, in an industry where you can find dozens of chains and countless independent restaurants, second place is impressive.

That second place comes as a result of the 2,600+ Popeyes locations that exist around the world. Most of these are in the United States and there are more Popeyes locations being opened all of the time. One of the few things that Popeyes has on KFC is the fact that it was launched several decades later. As a result, it’s younger, newer and hasn’t had the advantage of an early start. It’s also considered to be the better chain by many Americans and if they succeed in their goals of global domination then the rest of the world will think the same very soon.

Popeyes Locations Worldwide

It won’t come as much of a surprise to learn that Canada is the biggest country for Popeyes outside of the United States. However, there are only 40 Popeyes locations here, which shows just how much they have struggled outside of their main country of operation.

Outside of Canada and the US there are over 300 Popeyes locations. But many of these, such as the ones in France, Germany and Japan, are on US military bases and are not open to the local populace. For whatever reason Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen just hasn’t appealed to the international masses like KFC has done. This is one of the reasons why they have lived in their shadows for so long.

But as time goes on and the brand steadily grows inside and outside of the US this will likely change. When that happens then they could finally have what they need to surpass KFC in terms of size and popularity.

Popeyes Locations US

There has been a steady growth for Popeyes locations in the US over the last decade. Prior to this the growth was much more impressive. But in those years they added just 200 locations or so. This still seems like a lot, but for a chain so big and so well established, it’s not.

If you look at chains like Jimmy John’s and Five Guys they are adding this many locations to their ranks every single year. They are not as big and as well known, yet they have been able to grow at a rate that Popeyes hasn’t. This is more down to the model they have than anything else, but it’s an area that could be worked on and perhaps needs to be if they are to grow into the huge chain that they aspire to be.

Popeyes Tulsa

Tulsa has been a big hit for the Popeyes chain. There is a key location near the center of town, but there are also others in and around the town, totaling around half a dozen. All of these remain open until 10pm and they are situated in some of the most prime locations in Tulsa.

Popeyes Eden, Nc

There were some teething problems with this Popeyes location, but they were worked out quickly and it is now undoing those early bad reviews and winning the support of the locals. This is a difficult area for a brand like this to succeed, so if you want Popeyes locations to remain here then make sure you support them. Eat there often, submit surveys to show your gratitude, and tell your friends!

Popeyes Milwaukee

Wisconsin is not the first state you think of when it comes to southern fried chicken. But they have taken to this chain like no other and Popeyes locations seem to enjoy more success here than any other fried chicken chain. There is something about this restaurant that the locals love.

Most Popeyes locations in this city open from 10am to 10pm at night.

Popeyes Lafayette

One of the most popular Popeyes locations in Lafayette is just a short drive away from the airport, a great way to grab a quick bite whether you’re about to leave the city or are just arriving. There are a few other Popeyes locations in this city as well and all of them close by 10pm through the week.

Popeyes Wichita, Ks

This city is one of the most important cities for fast food in the United States, if not the world. This might not have been the home to Subway or McDonald’s; it might not have been the home to Domino’s or Panera. But it could be argued that none of those chains would exist if not for this city and the chain that it spawned.

That’s because this is where White Castle—one of the very first burger chains and the first budget burger chains—and Pizza Hut, the world’s largest pizza chain, were founded. The fact that Popeyes locations are in plenty supply here is no accident. All fast food chains have a big presence in this city and they are all very proud of it. If you make it in Wichita, Kansas, then you have made it period, because no one understands fast food like these guys do.

Popeyes New Orleans

This is the home of southern food and the hometown of Al Copeland, the founder of Popeyes. It’s where cajun cooking is at its best and where the locals treat Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen as their own. There are many great eateries in this city, with no shortage of quality cajun style restaurants.

Try the street food, try the backstreet eateries and try a little home cooking, but don’t dismiss Popeyes. Chains like this have a reputation for being soulless and clinical and we get that, but in the city of its birth and its founder’s birth, there is more than enough soul to go around.

Popeyes Las Vegas

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Vegas is great for fast food like this. It’s a way for strong US chains like Popeyes to expose themselves to an international marketplace, thanks to the hordes of tourists that visit this city every year. It’s also great for the locals, as everyone wants to eat on the go and to spend as little as possible while doing it. This is the City of Sin after all, and fast food leaves plenty of time for gambling, partying and general hedonism.

Popeyes Turkey

There is a small number of Popeyes locations in Turkey, which might come as a surprise. This country doesn’t always embrace US chains, but Popeyes has been different and it has achieved moderate success here as well. There is another kind of turkey that Popeyes are associated with though and that’s the Popeyes Cajun Style Turkey, which is sure to add some spice to Thanksgiving.

You can buy this turkey at select stores in time for Thanksgiving and we would recommend that you try it out at least once. It might not be your thing, but if you’re sick of dry and flavorless turkey then it could be the answer. It comes with plenty of spice and flavor, but it’s not overly hot, so don’t worry if you or your family can’t handle the heat.

Popeyes York, Pa

For a budget restaurant, Popeyes York, PA, is surprisingly well rated. The average score for restaurants at this level is 3 stars, but Popeyes York has over 4 on average across most review sites. The food is the same, the service is the same. The thing that makes the difference are the customers, who just love what’s on offer and can’t get enough.

Popeyes Forest, Ms

One of the most popular Popeyes locations in MS can be found in Forest. This is not a big town, there isn’t a great deal of quality eateries here and you won’t find all the major chains either. However, the locals have really taken to Popeyes Louisiana Chicken and this is easily one of the most popular restaurants in the town.

To see it for yourself drop by: 1270 Hwy 35 S, 39074.

Popeyes Ogden, Utah

Popeyes locations have done well in small towns by standing out above the competition and being one of the best purveyors of budget food. In Ogden, that hasn’t always been the case. There are good reviews for this store, but there are plenty of bad ones as well.

This Popeyes location has certainly enjoyed its fair share of success and will likely continue to do so, but the locals seem to be polarized on this one. Many of the complaints concern the staff, the speed of the drive-thru and other things that are the fault of the individual franchisee.
