Red Robin Gourmet Burgers
Red Robin, or “Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews” to give it its full name is a growing chain serving deluxe, gourmet burgers and other American fare. They have taken the cuisine that has made the fast food industry one of the most lucrative in this country and they have tweaked it, improved it and turned it into something unique. In this page we’ll look at Red Robin menu prices, nutrition info, locations, hours and more. And of course, we’ll also take a peek at the Red Robin secret menu!
If there is something new to learn about this popular chain; if there is a secret menu item; a way to get free burgers or coupons; or if you just want to take a peek at the menu and information on calories, then we’ll cover it all here.
Red Robin Restaurant
The first Red Robin restaurant was based in Washington and was built in 1940. The name was initially “Sam’s Red Robin”, and was based on the name of the owner and on a song of the same name that he liked. In 1969 the restaurant was sold, the “Sam” part of the name was dropped and the chain as we know it today was born.
In the early days the Red Robin restaurant was simply a tavern. It mainly sold drinks, with a small food menu as well. It was a big hit with students from a local university, who helped the business to stay in profit during those early years. Before long, the food menu was expanded, with close to 30 different types of burgers being added.
Thanks to this new introduction, the brand was able to grow considerably. It became a huge hit in the local area, sales went through the roof and it became clear that an expansion was needed. Over the next few years the owner spread his brand into many more locations.
Ten years after buying the restaurant, the owner began franchising it. More franchisees jumped on board and the brand grew, but many of the locations were added by the company and continued to be owned by the company.
Red Robin Menu
As you might expect for a chain named “Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews” big burgers and great beers are the order of the day. The goal was clearly to create a restaurant that offered fast food fare, one where the burgers were bigger and different to anything else out there, and one where you could wash them down with a glass of cold beer instead of a milkshake or a never-ending cup of Coke.
Red Robin has a lot of fun with their menu. The gourmet burgers themselves are big, fresh and juicy. But it’s not all about cheeseburgers and quarter pounders. There are burgers designed to be bigger and better. They offer flavors you just won’t find on the Hardee’s menu and will never not encountered at Burger King and McDonalds.
These include the following, all of which are some of the more popular burgers on the Red Robin menu:
- Chilli Chilli Cheeseburger: This comes with a thick, messy serving of chilli, as well as cheddar cheese, chipotle aioli, and diced onions. One of the messier burgers on a very messy menu.
- The Garden Burger: This is a rarity: a vegetarian burger. It’s a delicious patty that is 100% meat free, served with tomatoes, pickles, lettuce and a dijon sauce.
- Buzz Mac n Cheese Tavern Double: This is a double burger that comes loaded with a big sloppy serving of Mac n Cheese. It is served with a spicy sauce and all the usual extras.
There are burgers loaded with grilled chicken, grilled fish, steak, and even things usually listed as sides. It’s all about the burgers here and no one does them better. That’s why the Red Robin menu is one of our favorites, up there with the likes of Smashburger and Carl’s Jr.
Red Robin Secret Menu
Red Robin was founded over 40 years ago. But it took them most of this time to launch their first secret menu item. Technically, this means that the Red Robin secret menu didn’t launch until 2014. At the time, the only menu item was the “Cure Burger”.
This was launched prior to New Year’s Day and considered to be the “ultimate hangover cure” for people suffering on New Year’s day. This was a great promotion for the brand. They were a little late on the secret menu bandwagon, but they gave themselves a story that ensured they were in the news.
Since then they have launched even more secret menu items and have looked to get a little exposure behind each new release. As a result, these secret menu items are a little less secret than usual. Still, you wont find them on the traditional Red Robin menu, which means they still qualify. To see what’s available yourself, just check with our Red Robin Secret Menu page.
Red Robin Menu Prices
Red Robin menu prices are toward the higher end, there is no denying that. They are perhaps in line with the likes of the Carl’s Jr. menu and the Smashburger menu, if not a little more expensive. But you get a quality product for your money. There is a lot of food, it’s all fresh, it’s all high quality. Also, you can’t beat the experience of tucking into a big, messy burger and having a nice cold glass of beer on hand to wash it down. That’s something you won’t get at Five Guys.

There is also a Red Robin Happy Hour, which can help to bring the prices down. Just check the link and see if you can take part. You should also checkout our Red Robin Coupon page and info, more on which you can find in the relevant section below.
Red Robin Nutrition and Calories
There are a lot of calories packed into these burgers. But that’s to be expected. If you order a double quarter pounder with lashings of sticky sauce, a big helping of cheesy pasta and plenty of deep-fried sides, you know it’s not health food. There are healthier alternatives though.
These include orders of grilled chicken and fish without the bun. There are also some healthier sides. There are also plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options on the Red Robin menu.
To learn more about these options and the healthier alternatives, and to see a full list of calories and nutrition information, read our Red Robin Nutrition Info page.
Red Robin Locations
There are over 530 Red Robin locations. In 2015, the number reached 538. But this is a growing brand, so that number will likely increase as the franchise becomes more of a viable option for business owners across the United States.
In fact, only around 100 Red Robin locations are franchise owned, with the rest being owned by the company. This means there is a lot of room for growth in that area. It’s also a surprise when you consider that chains like Subway, and indeed many others, are more or less entirely franchised.
The Red Robin locations can be found in the United States and Canada. The very first restaurant to carry the Red Robin name was closed in 2014.
Red Robin Coupons
There are plenty of Red Robin coupons out there. These are available in newspapers, magazines and online. You can also check with national food holidays like National Cheeseburger Day. And because they serve beer and wine, they may even pay heed to days like National Wine Day and National Beer Day.
To see how you can make big savings and use promo codes alongside offline coupons and alongside food holidays, just check with out Red Robin Coupons page. We hate outdated and invalid coupons as much as you do. As a result, we do all we can to make sure this page is only stocked with information and coupons that you can use right now.
Red Robin Careers
Want more information on Red Robin jobs? Just visit the official Red Robin Careers page. As we have mentioned many times on this site, the fast food industry is a great place to work. The stereotype of the fast food worker is a teenager with no other prospects; typically someone who has failed in school and college.
But it’s not a dead end job. In fact, there is always a chance of upwards mobility. The best thing about these chains is that they are always looking for someone with experience working for them. Someone who understands what it is they do. They would much rather give a managerial position to someone who has proved themselves and has been working or the company for many years, than to someone who has never worked for them before and has a few degrees under them.
So, get yourself out there, work hard and you never know what you can achieve. You should also check our pages on Cinnabon, Hooters, Dairy Queen and more to find some great places to work and build for a successful career.
