Taco Bell Jobs

Taco Bell jobs are not for everyone, let’s be honest. It’s the fast food industry, and it has as many pluses as it does minuses, as many pros as cons. The first thing to consider is that you basically need to accept a low level of pay and to work your way up from the bottom. This is no ideal, and you may be trapped at this level for a couple years.

However, there are many benefits if you’re prepared to stick it out. The main benefit is the fact that these chains always look to hire supervisors and managers from within. They don’t care about qualifications. They want someone who knows the brand and can prove their devotion. After all, someone who has worked the kitchen, the counter and the tables can manage other workers in these positions better than someone fresh out of school with no experience whatsoever.

So, stick it out and you could be rewarded with a sizable pay and the sort of experience that money can’t buy and school can never supply. Once you have that level of experience you can then consider promoting yourself to franchise owner, or to franchise manager. You can also use that experience as a restaurant manager to get a similar job elsewhere.

The fast food industry is often looked down upon, but it gives opportunities to people who don’t have qualifications but are prepared to work hard and to prove themselves day-in, day-out. Everyone deserves a chance to make it regardless of their education, and for many, this industry is the only chance they will get.

How Much Does Taco Bell Pay?

Taco Bell Pay

Taco Bell do not pay living wage. So, don’t expect to earn as well here as you would at locations like In-n-Out Burger or CostCo. However, they always pay a little more than minimum wage, with some Taco Bell locations dropping down to minimum wage.

The entry level job at Taco Bell is a Crew Member. This is where most people on the Taco Bell career ladder begin. There is no one job assigned to employees who have this position and they will be required to do several different jobs within the restaurant.

If you step-up above this entry level position then you can expect to earn a little more. If you go all of the way to a managerial role then the money increases further. In fact, it’s one of the most rewarding jobs for general managers and store managers in this industry. We have discussed this in more detail below.

How Much Do Taco Bell Grillers Earn?

You can expect to earn between $8.50 and $10 an hour for this position. It is one of the more specialized roles with Taco Bell careers, but it’s also one that requires minimal training and one that has a high staff turnover rate. No job is too valuable at a fast food chain. As a result, no employee is irreplaceable, and that’s the way they like it.

How Much Do Taco Bell Managers Earn?

You can expect to earn an average of just $10 an hour for a job as a Shift Manager. But this is the most basic of the managerial roles and there are many higher roles available. You can earn around $35,000 a year if you are an assistance manager; in excess of $40,000 a year if you are a new manager at the store; and in excess of $50,000 in you are an experienced manager.

Does Taco Bell Pay Weekly?

No, at least not for the most part. It looks like Taco Bell pay their employees bi-weekly. This may change from location to location, but that’s what we have been told by the majority of staff working here.

Is Taco Bell Hiring?

The good thing about these big fast food chains is that they are always hiring, you just need to look in the right place. They have a high staff turnover rate and they require a lot of staff in each location, which means that individual Taco Bell locations often have something on the go. Add to this the fact that there are many Taco Bell locations in each county and you have a situation whereby you can nearly always find an opening.

Just drop your CV with a manager and let them know that you can travel to other locations. That way they may be able to put in a word with a franchise manager or to pass your CV onto other locations owned by the same franchisee. You can also search for a connection to a Taco Bell franchisee on LinkedIn and then ask them for details. They are the ones who own the stores and some of them own many stores. So, get in good with them and they will make sure that you get on the Taco Bell careers path.

Does Taco Bell Drug Test?

For the most part, it looks like Taco Bell do not drug test. That seems to be the general consensus after asking many current and former employees. There are some exceptions to this rule though. For instance, we have been told that they often drug test after an accident or a big mistake. Simply put, if they have reason to believe that you were negligent because of drugs, then they will test you for it. In fact, even if they have no direct suspicions, they may still look to test you in order to rule it out.

It seems to be a different story for anyone applying to a managerial role. In this case it is more common for them to drug test. So, if you’re shooing for a promotion and are a recreational drug user, then be prepared to go clean for a few weeks at least.

Does Taco Bell Have WiFi?

Yes! Taco Bell began to roll out free Wi-Fi to all of their locations in 2011. As things stand the majority of Taco Bell locations now have free Wi-Fi for you to access. This is fast for the most part, but it all really depends on the individual location.

There are many lists that look at the average speed of public Wi-Fi and fast food Wi-Fi, putting Taco Bell somewhere in the middle with the likes of Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts. As with all Wi-Fi, there is also a potential security issue, so make sure you’re safe and try to avoid accessing information that might be considered sensitive.

Should I Work at Taco Bell?

There are two major reasons to consider Taco Bell careers. The first concerns education. If you have no qualifications, credentials or experience, then you are limited in your options. Chains like Taco Bell give you an option though. You can start at the bottom and work your way to the top. once there you have the experience you need to get high ranking jobs elsewhere.

It is possible to work at the basic level with Taco Bell careers and then to work toward a role as a restaurant manager here or elsewhere, or even as a franchise owner.

The second reason is simply to earn some money as you look for something better, as you study, or even on a part-time basis. It’s not a huge deal of money, but it’s easy. There is no major training, no great skill required and you get to eat and serve Mexican food all day. If you’re looking to earn a few extra bucks for your studies, to pay the bills or just until something better comes along, it’s worth considering Taco Bell careers.

What Age Does Taco Bell Hire?

Taco Bell hire workers from the age of 16 onwards. In truth, it all depends on the franchisee and on the job at hand, but this is the most common minimum age. Still, that doesn’t mean that Taco Bell careers are out of reach if you’re in your 20s or 30s. You can still get a job here and you can still work your way up, but know that there is a good chance you will be working alongside and under employees many years your junior.
