Chocolate Whipped Cream
On the Tim Hortons secret menu page we discussed how you can get whipped cream on any drink or snack at this coffee and donut chain. But they also have chocolate whipped cream, and you can use this just as freely. In fact, you can ask for them to fill a cup with it, at which point you can do with it as you please.
This is a cheap way to load-up on fresh, delicious cream. It makes for a great topping to any cake, much better than the pre-mixed stuff that comes in a box and is prepared at home. And for roughly the same price. Add it to your cupcakes, or put it in the fridge and scoop some onto a night-time cup of cocoa. You can also add it to a Tim Hortons donut.
If you need to bake cakes for your kids’ bake-sale but don’t have the time or the desire, simply buy some plain store-bought cupcakes and scoop lashings of this cream over them. Add a little sprinkling of candy to the top and you have an instant treat that tastes homemade.
Named after the legendary hockey player, The Gretzky is a secret menu item that packs a calorific punch. It is 9 servings of cream and 9 servings of sugar. It’s the sort of thing you don’t want to be drinking, but it’s a cheap and easy way to get a base for all good desserts.
You can whip the Gretzky into some delicious cream, much better than the whipped cream commonly used by Tim Hortons and even better than the stuff they put on their sweet treats. You can add little bits to your coffee or hot chocolate; or you can use it to inject some oomph into a cake or cupcakes.
If you put it in the freezer, taking it out every now and then to stir it up and break down the ice crystals, you can turn it into ice cream. You might want to add a little flavoring in there, but that’s easily done. Just ask the server to use their flavor shots. With a couple of shots of mint and chocolate, you’re only a handful of chocolate chips away from the perfect Mint Choc Chip. With some strawberry flavoring, you have the ultimate ready-made fruity ice cream.
